    • When were you there? We didn’t go into the castle (for some reason) did you go inside?

      • We lived in Bavaria for three years, between 2001-2004, and traveled as much as possible during that time. (That’s why I blog about “Bringing Europe Home.” 😉 ) Yes, we went inside Neuschwanstein. I think it’s most spectacular seen from outside, though–especially that one photo you have looking down on it through the forested hills above. I’ve never seen a view quite like that one!

        • Ah fantastic! I’d love to live somewhere else for a while, if not just to see what it’s like. My wife’s uncle lives in Atlanta actually. Yeah – it’s a fair view from the Marienbrücke. We loved Munich, can’t recall ever being colder though!

          • Well, I can’t recall ever being hotter than during my summers here, in Atlanta!
It was an adventure and a delight living in another country and culture. It has changed us all.

  4. I just spent six weeks in Cologne, and though it was wonderful it was a bit “flat” for me considering I grew up on an island surrounded by mountains and sea. I had no idea Munich looked like this – so gorgeous!

    • Munich is very beautiful – this area is probably an hour to the south by train. Where did you grow up?
